Master Harry Wins The 2011 Royal Sovereign Stakes

February 15th, 2011

Peter Moody’s Master Harry was the winner of the feature race at Randwick Racecourse, the 2011 Royal Sovereign Stakes, on February 12, 2011.

Master Harry made the most of his barrier draw (3) and led throughout the entire race to secure the victory in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes.

Master Harry was challenged by three horses near the line and was part of a four horse photo finish.

Gillian Heinrich’s Audacious Spirit came in a close second, while Peter Snowden’s Skilled finished third.

Masquerader was the $3.50 favourite at Luxbet but failed to finish in the placing, coming sixth.

Second favourite Pressday finished eighth after a horror run that saw him caught wide without cover for the majority of the race.

Master Harry has now won two of four starts, including the Listed Streets Ice Cream Stakes as a two-year-old.

The three-year-old colt is currently nominated for the 2011 Newmarket Handicap on March 12, 2011, and appears to be in the best form of his short career.

Master Harry won the 2011 Royal Sovereign Stakes in 1 minute and 10.25 seconds, and was ridden by jockey Tim Clark.
